KTA 6: Legal and ethical considerations
Task 1
PRS License - making sure this is in place so that musicians/record labels get paid royalties for songs that are broadcast. These people gain money from people listening to their music and broadcasting it for they have to pay them in order to do so.
Copyright and ownership - if content is presented as original (this could be use of imagery and graphics in backgrounds during presenter exposition)
Health and safety - when filming for camera crew, presenters. There is legislation (by law) in place to protect those in the media (this is why risk assessments and recces and done).
Contracts of work - model releases, location releases forms.
Media regulation - music videos are regulated by the BBFC - what are the problems with some of the content of music videos? Some people may find content offensive meaning it will have to be removed.
Task 2
NMN News Programme PRS - They would need to have permission and pay for the music they show on their channel.
NMN News Programme copyright - This channel would need to have copyright laws on their channel to make sure people don’t steal their content.
NMN News Programme health and safety - some activities that may need to be considered could be from the safety of the equipment and how it is set up and how it could injure the staff if it is not set up correctly.

Ethical issues - depiction of violence, stereotypes, taste and taboos, sex
