KTA 2: Analysing the content of a music TV channel news programme

MTV News Presenter: Tinea Taylor

This news tv programme was produced on May the 24th 2017 by MTV News. This video has a lot of mise-en-scene included to create the effect of it being an news channel. 

The muse-en-scene in this video begins with a white background with 2 people sat in front of it on chairs  talking. Both of these people are wearing casual clothing being jumpers and jeans to state that this is an informal interview. The presenter is holding a piece of card with the programmes logo on it to signify that she is the presenter and the other guy is the guest. There are then white boxes with their names in. shown in front of them on the screen. They are blocked next to each other facing the camera but also facing one another when talking to create the casual feel for the audience. The presenter uses the cards to prompt herself with what she is saying to add the professional effect but also general conversation effect. Through out the video the lighting is bright and simple to make the people the main focus in the video. When the guest is talking the presenter ensures that she continues to look at him and nod her head gently to signify her acknowledging with what he says. At the end of the video the a black and white screen appears with subscribe written on it and also see more written in singular black and white boxes, the shot of the interview is shown smaller in the corner of the screen. 

Throughout this video there is little camera and shots used for this interview for there was only close ups and 3/4 mid shots. This is because the cast members did not change scenery so the camera angles did not need to change or do anything to establish the location. The camera angles switched from close ups to then 3/4 length mid shots to create the effect that what is being said is more interesting when the camera changes to an close up. 

The video includes specific ways of editing to transition the different clips to one another is through a white horizontal blocks. At the end of the video there is a transition to a black and white horizontal stripped screen with black writing telling the audience to subscribe and to watch more. The footage of the cast goes into the top left corner of the screen, made smaller so they are still visible but also just used for background sounds. The editing in this video is none continuous editing. 

The sound in this video includes background music and the voices of the cast members talking, the background music is suitable for it is faint and relaxing for the audience to listen too. This means that the audience can concentrate on what the people are saying but also not be uncomfortable about the silence in the background.
